The Rose Corporation in Reading, Pennsylvania has fabricated numerous components for wastewater treatment plants including Stainless Steel 304 Frames from structural steel shapes, angles, channels, bars, and pipes.
Among the large-scale steel and aluminum components regularly manufactured at the Rose Corporation are 90-Ton melting kettles used to process lead into molten lead for the battery industry. Lead batteries are used for a vast number of purposes, but all batteries provide either starting, for instance starting a car, or deep cycle power used to power accessories like trolling motors on boats, winches or lights.
The Rose Corporation recently manufactured a 14 foot diameter and an 11 foot diameter replacement "Water Cooled Roof Ring" used on Electric Arc Furnaces. They are an essential part of the furnace process as a continuous flow of water enters the water jacket, circulates the entire ring and exits in order to keep the roof section of the Electric Arc Furnace cool (see illustration below).
- The inspection of hooks for any loose rivets, which we then removed and replaced if required.
- The removal of worn wear bars with Arc air.
- Forming new high strength (A514) wear bars to fit hook shape.
- The replacement of worn wear bars with new bars, weld and inspect new welds.
The Rose Corporation has repaired a number of Ladles that are used to pour molten metal in large manufacturing “Steel Mills” and Foundry processes. These Ladles are prone to damage from the heat of the molten metal within them. Several of these Ladles had their Refractory Lining fail, resulting in their shells being damaged.
Over the past four months students from Reading Intermediate School visited The Rose Corporation and created a video answering the question: "What's So Cool About Manufacturing?" We are proud of the work that Reading Intermediate did and we would love to bring home an award for them. In order to do that - We Need Your Votes!!
More than 1,000 students, business owners and members of the community attended the "What's So Cool About Manufacturing" Awards Ceremony on Tuesday evening, March 7, 2018.
There are 36,500 manufacturing jobs in the Lehigh Valley area of Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. What's So Cool About Manufacturing aims to educate middle school students about manufacturing careers and opportunities. Each year the What's So Cool About Manufacturing Video contest builds excitement in students across Pennsylvania to explore cool manufacturing careers and produce profiles of companies. Each contest features an online vote for its Viewers Choice Award. This year, Reading Northeast Middle School produced a video about our parent company, The Rose Corporation.
